Found in India, the Honey Gourami is so named for its golden, honey like colouration making it an attractive addition to the community aquarium. Growing to approximately 2 inches, they do best in tanks with shade and low flow of water appreciating the company of their own kind to display natural behaviours and comfort. House them with similar peaceful fish that won’t bully them or outcompete them for food, otherwise they are liable to shy away and hide. A balanced diet is best for overall health, consisting of various dried, live and frozen foods.
