Offering Pseudotropheus sp. Acei (Blue Top Acei).
A relatively large mbuna from Lake Malawi, growing to approximately 7 inches, it inhabits shallower water in its natural habitat, feeding heavily on vegetation. Aim to provide a sandy, rock filled environment with a small shoal of its own kind. This mbuna is among the most peaceful of its type, even allowing for a mix of males and females without issue. One thing to bear in mind is this species risk of Malawi bloat, a condition caused by stress, poor diet and water conditions. Avoid this by offering a mixed diet, with special emphasis on algae based foods, as well as plentiful water changes. This species is easily recognised by its blue body and yellow finnage.
