Description

Offering Pethia conchonius  (Rosy Barb).

A somewhat larger barb reaching sizes of approximately 5 – 6 inches, rosy barbs are noted for their preference to lower temperatures than other tropical fish with temperatures of between 18 – 22 degrees recommended. They can be sexed by their body and fins, males are slightly lighter in colour with black in their fins females are plumper, have clear fins and can be slightly darker. Aim to keep them in groups of 6 or more to reduce aggression and fin nipping; this will help them to also direct their energy toward their own group in community aquaria. They are very hardy and undemanding, accepting a wide variety of foods as with all fish, aim to provide regular fresh water changes for best health.
