Description

Offering Paracheirodon innesi (Neon Tetra).

One of, if not the most popular freshwater tropical fish in the world the neon tetra is a firm favourite among fishkeepers, due to its intense neon red and blue colouration against a silver body, diminutive size, and shoaling behaviours. The species itself can be kept quite successfully, with a regular water change schedule, balanced diet; and suitable housing. To house this fish, aim to keep in a group of at least 10, though more is better. Tank size should be 60 litres plus, as despite their small size (under 1 inch) they appreciate room to explore. Tank mates should be chosen very carefully, larger fish may easily swallow neon tetras whole, while other energetic or boisterous fish can easily stress out neons. For best colouration, their diet composed of flake, pellets, wafer, and dried commercial foods; can be supplemented with frozen and/or live foods.
