Offering Melanotaenia praecox (Neon Rainbowfish).
A beautifully coloured smaller species of rainbowfish, the neon dwarf is so named for its diminutive size of approximately 2, and bright blue, iridescent body with red fins. They are commonly found in rainforest streams in Indonesia, as such their aquarium should be decorated to reflect this with wood, rock, vegetation and a sandy, gravel substrate doing well to help them feel secure in their surroundings. Typically rainbowfish feed from insects at the waters surface, and should accept flake food along with frozen/live food to maintain their health and colouration. House them with other peaceful tank inhabitants, avoiding predatory or aggressive fish such as cichlids.
