Description

Offering Melanotaenia parkinsoni (Parkinson’s Rainbowfish).

A colourful rainbowfish displaying strong red colours, parkinsons rainbow is found in Papua New Guinea, growing to approximately 6 inches. As with most rainbowfish they prefer a shoal of their own, appreciating a long aquarium to accommodate their active swimming nature. Juveniles given adequate care will develop the colouration typical of adults, aim to provide a planted tank for their security, along with a mixed diet of live and frozen foods. They can be assimilated into peaceful communities, where they won’t tend to touch smaller fish, at most they will spar at breeding times with no lasting damage. Freshwater is important to keep this type of rainbowfish healthy.
