Description

Offering Melanotaenia herbertaxelrodi.

Growing to around 4 inches in size, Axelrodi’s Rainbowfish, or Lake Tebera as they are otherwise known, are found exclusively in the Lake Tebera basin of Papua New Guinea. An active, colourful species, they are best kept in aquaria that affords them ample swimming space within a suitably sized shoal, given a varied diet and good water care they will develop their full colouration as they mature to adulthood. Entirely peaceful, they can often be housed with smaller tankmates with good success, as they have small mouths and throats.
