Description

Offering Hyphessobrycon eques (Serpae Tetra).

Serpae Tetra, otherwise known as blood tetra, long fin serpae, and long fin red tetra are a small to medium sized tetra, growing to approximately 2 inches in length. A softwater fish, they look best in a naturally decorated tank with wood, rock, vegetation and a sand, gravel substrate. When kept in groups of 8 or more, they will school together around vegetation moving in short little twitch movements. Feed a balanced diet from flake, pellet, dried, live or frozen food to bring out their colouration vegetable matter will also help to prolong their longevity. They do well in community tanks, as long as there are sufficient numbers to direct potential fin nipping energy towards each other where they will establish a pecking order.
