Description

Offering Haplochromis latifasciatus (Zebra Obliquiden Cichlid).

The Zebra Obliquiden Cichlid is a mildly aggressive mouthbrooder, growing to around 5 inches. Named for its stripe like colouration. When keeping these fish it is recommended to keep a group (6+) with a higher ratio of females to males, which helps manage aggression. They are not known for being excessively aggressive however, and can cohabit with other small Mbuna species. A balanced diet for this species is preferred, noting a heavy emphasis on their natural diet of insects. It’s recommended to provide brine shrimp, daphnia, Cyclops and mosquito larvae. Aim to provide a medium sized aquarium for this fish, with a sandy substrate and rockwork to provide security and stimulation.
