Description

Offering Gymnocorymbus ternetzi (Black Widow Tetra).

The Black Widow Tetra, or Blackskirt Tetra as it is also known grows to approximately 2 inches, displaying black spots and black lower half (akin to a skirt) against a silvery body. Its a very active tetra, and adds life to many community aquariums; however this can also prove to be a downside depending on the type of community, with many shy fish being unnerved by its frantic swimming patterns. Hardy and undemanding, it can be a good choice for beginners; accepting a variety of foods such as flake, pellet, dried live and/or frozen. Fin nipping can be an issue in smaller groups, so aim to house at least 8 or more individuals together as this will allow them to direct any pent up energy into their own group.
