They accept a wide variety of foods including flake, pellets, live and frozen and do well in slightly harder water as per African cichlid recommendations. Decorate with a sandy substrate and rockwork to allow the fish to establish security, territorial boundaries and stimulation to reflect their natural behaviours. Males can be expected to reach up to 7 inches, with females falling short of that.
