Description

Offering Altolamprologus calvus «Black» (Black Calvus Cichlid).

Hailing from Lake Tanganyika, the Black Calvus is a recognisable fish in the aquarium trade due to its characteristic underslung mouth shape, iridescent colouration and magnificent finnage. They benefit from a biotope styled setting, complete with rock caves and suitably dim lighting. They can be fussy eaters, enjoying live and frozen foods sometimes ignoring commercial foods such as flake entirely. Tankmates should be chosen carefully as while this fish will claim territory, it is relatively shy and can easily become harassed by aggressive African cichlids such as mbuna.
