One of the most well-known and popular loach available in the hobby, the Clown Loach is a colourful, playful fish that lives up to its "clown" name.
Best kept in groups, they are active and curious fish; that click their eye spines when particularly excited, as well as playing dead when resting. They have the potential to grow to 12 inches, though to realise this potential they require large aquaria. New arrivals are prone to whitespot and parasites, so quarantining is always recommended.
They will accept a varied diet, including flake, pellet, dried, live and/or frozen foods; as well as vegetable matter, a balance of which will help to maintain their health and vigour.
