Giant Kuhli Loach, latin name Pangio Semicincta; derive their name from their contrasting colours of brown and gold that resemble half-circles.
Growing just shy of 4 inches, they appreciate relatively shallow and slow-moving water; reflecting their natural habitat in Malaysia. Water chemistry is ideally of lower pH, with dimmed lighting to help this species feel secure.
Avoid housing them in sparse set-ups, as despite this fish' appreciation of cover, a dense planted tank with wood décor will encourage them to explore as opposed to hiding in fear. House them win groups of 10 and more to help them feel relaxed and safe.
They will feed on a variety of foods including flake, pellets, dried, frozen and/or live; though food stuffs must be of a small enough size for their small mouths, with suitable tank mates that will neither bully or outcompete kuhlis for food.
