More info

A shell dweller from Lake Tanganyika, it is recognisable by its elongated mouth and striped patterns, growing to approximately 5 inches in aquaria.

They are active hunters, preying on smaller fish and invertebrates, therefore a mixed diet of live and frozen foods go a long way to keeping them healthy.

At their larger size, they appreciate rocky crevices to hide and lay eggs, these fish are very inquisitive and appreciate areas to explore in larger aquaria.

They can be very aggressive with their own, which stresses the need for adequate space to establish territory.
